Good pencils

I’m tired. One week til the clocks change.

I had a great time at Alice, Phil & Russell’s 145th birthday party on Friday. It was a good party with good people and good pencils.

The Last of Us concluded its first season with an excellent final episode that got the tone right and didn’t feel rushed. Overall I’m impressed that the adaptation worked as well as it did and avoided becoming a boring retread of something I already know off by heart. Joel in particular was different enough from the game that I felt like I got something new and interesting from each episode, and the extra backstory in the finale was satisfying. I’m excited about season two.

The new Bobby Fingers video is the best one yet and truly makes the most of the medium. I don’t understand how someone can appear out of nowhere and immediately produce such fantastic material.
-
I saw Knock at the Cabin, a well-constructed film that’s too silly to be any good. I can’t believe Bruce Willis turned out to be a robot!
-
To the surprise of nobody, I’m losing momentum on Outer Wilds. The target audience for this game must be people who are both much more curious and much more patient than me.

Ruby drama? Nein danke.
