Weeknotes 324
Off work
-
Beautiful spring weather this week. I took Thursday and Friday off work and went out in the sunshine instead.

-
On Thursday I had a sunny ride to Hackney Central and ate lunch at Black Cat.

-
On Friday I popped out for a morning coffee with Marina, then my home broadband died so I cycled to Cambridge Heath for lunch at Love Shack instead of rotting and watching YouTube.

-
All this uneventful downtime has been extremely restorative.
-
Three times at the gym. Shroud’s story has taken a late turn, and it’s also almost over, so I’m enjoying it more.
-
Work’s become fully absurd so I’m just trying to dissociate my way through it to avoid making myself ill with stress. During my days off I made the decision to drop some responsibilities and a weight was instantly lifted. My only regret is having waited this long to do it.

CARBON MONOXIDE CORNER: Lucy Mangan in the Guardian:
Oh, and there were two god-awful performances by Wet Leg but let us not dwell.
u wot m8? Both songs sounded great to me — enthusiastically performed, clearly live, perfectly mixed. Weird.

I watched Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves as a bit of light fun, which is what it turned out to be. For something that should’ve been awful it was surprisingly competent at times, like me, with some good performances and occasional funny writing, like me, even though it didn’t really amount to anything, like me.
