Weeknotes 100
Triple digits

Welcome to December!
-
I forgot to mention that I did manage to book a booster vaccination a day or two before the five-month anniversary of my second dose. It’s a little frustrating that the appointment is still almost a month out (unless they implement the latest guidance and let me move it sooner) but I’m grateful I’ll be getting it before the end of the year either way.
-
Season three of Succession (aka Who Will Daddy Roy Kiss?) continues to be very good. The writing and performances are still funny even though the premise hasn’t really moved on at all. I’m surprised they’ve managed to keep it up for this long, like an alternate-reality Prison Break where nobody ever breaks out of prison.
-
For some reason I’m prolonging the inevitable by not watching the season finale of Foundation. Maybe I’ll forget about it if I wait long enough.
-
A couple of weeks ago I thought I might be visiting Canada in January, then it started looking more like March, and now that the Omicron variant has made an appearance I’m wondering whether I’ll get on a plane in 2022 at all, if ever.
-
I’ve got another week and a half at work before my December holiday kicks in. My energy’s been low for the last month so I intend to sleep a lot and get some exercise and probably find a few things to do away from a computer, which might help to dispel the psychological funk. Or this could just be what winter is like, in which case the break will at least get me closer to spring.
I’ll also — Omicron willing — be visiting some of my family over Christmas. I didn’t get to do this last year so it’ll be slightly novel and maybe even a little relaxing. This does leave the logistical difficulty of getting Christmas presents to the rest of my family; it doesn’t feel safe enough to start riding trains around to hand-deliver things, which is what I’d ordinarily do in the Before, but it’s also not quite dangerous enough to justify getting impersonal pre-wrapped gifts drop-shipped by Amazon, which is what I did last year out of desperation. I anticipate a complicated series of postal transactions in my near future. 🎅📦

Now that my weeknotes have hit triple digits I should probably consider paginating the list of posts. Working out how best to do that did cross my mind when I was first setting up the site but felt premature at that point, then time passed and I ignored the problem for so long that it’s almost become too late to start changing things around.
On the plus side, it’s not an actual problem. Maybe I can just lean into having the index page grow longer indefinitely and pretend it’s an intentional stylistic choice.

As you can see, I didn’t think of anything momentous to say.
