Itself trapped
-
Cooler this week, thank goodness. My brain mostly resumed normal operation and spent an uneventful few days trapped inside my body which was itself trapped inside an office.
-
Three gyms. I’m still only, like, half a kilo down from a month ago. The pace is frustrating but the trend is still in the right direction and everything feels pretty sustainable.
-
Redemption Ark feels like hard work and I’m not getting much of a payoff yet. I’m only about a sixth of the way through so I’ll stick with it and give it a proper chance to get going. It’s possible I’m not (or, perhaps, audiobooks aren’t) cut out for ponderous space opera.

On Thursday my team went for lunch at Casa do Frango after a pleasantly sunny-yet-cool walk over London Bridge. It’s a nice place: the room itself is filled with plants and sunlight, and the food’s uniformly delicious, even though there aren’t many vegan options and they’re always slightly annoyed by us ordering à la carte. I’ve only ever been there for work lunches but this has reminded me to go back and try it as a civilian without the chaos of a group meal.
-
I’d ordered two nice frames from Happenstance which arrived this week, so I was able to frame my recent purchase and an earlier one and install them both in my enclosure at work. I’m hoping I can draw sustenance from them in times of need or, failing that, point at them mutely whenever someone asks me for a technical opinion.
-
Unusually I hosted a group of friends on Friday night for pizza and games. It was heartening to see so many happy faces in my flat, plus it gave me and the robot an excuse to clean properly.
-
I’m three episodes behind on Star City and haven’t started season three of Silo yet.
-
Instead, I finished rewatching season two of Succession (DC, This Is Not for Tears) and started season three (Secession, Mass in Time of War). The end of season two continued the incredible streak from the earlier episodes; the start of season three is comparatively overloaded with plot, which makes it not as funny or interesting, but still good. I know there’s some blockbuster stuff coming up (e.g. Too Much Birthday) so I don’t mind waiting for the cogs to turn.

That’s it! Stay frosty.
